TMM believes America needs TWO truthful, believable parties to balance each other and compete in the political marketplace. Unfortunately, while the once-proud GOP remains the newly-rebranded COT (Cult of Trump), that’s not the case. Moderates, consider that – and VOTE.
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right. Here I am, stuck in the middle with you. If you remember that 1973 song by Stealers Wheel, and identify with its chorus, you might be a Moderate Baby Boomer – and you might decide this election.
Hopefully, John Lewis' spirit will never leave us. But now that his physical presence is gone, the words of St. Paul resonate: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day…" If anybody ever deserved those words, John Lewis did. Want to honor his legacy? Contribute to campaigns and organizations fighting “the good fight”. Volunteer for them. Above all, VOTE.
Clearly, we must immediately start focusing on smart energy and grid modernization to confront climate change. Using metal straws, shunning plastic bags, and “reducing, reusing and recycling” are helpful; but smart energy combats climate change much faster, at a much larger scale. Let’s employ ALL these weapons to win this war.
April 22 marks the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. This year, tree huggers and concerned citizens around the world will come together, virtually, to commemorate this milestone, celebrate our precious planet and bring awareness to challenges it faces. As has been typical for 50 years, the Earth has seen some victories and setbacks this past year.
In winter, it’s easy to forget horrific wildfires and hurricanes last summer and fall. Harder to forget: the deadliest day of American tornadoes in six years, killing 23 in Alabama recently – not in summer, but barely in March.
